![]() ![]() Each version of Mania had cheated high scores in the first week of the game being out. Leaderboards in games like this never mean anything. It may add some replayability, but it's such a minor feature that it's not really worth hype. They give you a rank based on various score thresholds and performance in a level. You cannot use that as a way to measure the compilation's worth. Sonic 1, 2, 3, and CD all had sound test in the original games on original hardware. What? you listed off those "great features" and I pointed out how they weren't worth the money. They essentially added some content to the taxman ports and doubled the price. The extra content available in this compilation is not worth the price, and while it's nice to see Sonic 3 finally get the 60fps widescreen treatment, it's not worth this. ![]() They are trying to distract you with the incredible animation from the trailer, and promise of more in the game itself. Instead, they're giving us Sonic Jam again, essentially. Games after Sonic Adventure 2 and up to Sonic Unleashed have never been ported, and aren't on any modern platforms. There are games that need to be ported more than the classic titles that have been milked to death at this point. The base game is already $40 and they're actually charging more for DLC. They actually have the balls to lock content behind preorders, and have DLC that unlocks content like a mirror mode, and hard mode. Oh and don't even get me started on the DLC chart. Minus Sonic 3, you can play each of these games on mobile for FREE. We didn't need a compilation of all 4 of them for double the price.Įach of the taxman ports were $5 each when they launched, but are now free to play with ads on mobile. Because they were mobile only for a long time. The Taxman ports of Sonic 1 and 2 needed to be brought to modern consoles, yes. I'm not going to beat around the bush here, Sonic Origins is a cash grab and nothing more, and we really shouldn't be applauding sega for this.Įach of these games have been ported to basically every platform at this point, Sonic 3 was the only one that didn't get the remake treatment up until this point. ![]()
